Invitation
On behalf of the Collegium Internationale Activitatis Nervosae Superioris, Slovak Society for Higher Brain Functions SkMA and the Institute of Normal and Pathological Physiology SAS (INPP SAS) it is a great pleasure to invite and welcome you to the International C.I.A.N.S. Conference 2012. It will be the fifth internationbal C.I.A.N.S. meeting organized in Slovakia since 2000 (Piestany 2000, Trencianske Teplice 2003, Bratislava 2005, Smolenice Castle 2008). The Conference will be held from 10th to 12th October 2012 in the Congress Centre Academia of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Stara Lesna (High Tatras). The event was planned to precede the 25th Congress (European College of Neuropsychopharmacology) (ECNP) in Vienna (13th – 17th October 2012) and following WPA International Congress (World Psychiatric Association) in Prague (17th – 21th October 2012). As it was stated in general information both capitals (Vienna and Prague) are easily accesible from High Tatras in Slovakia. The International C.I.A.N.S. Conference 2012 is coupled with the 5th Life Style Conference organized by the INPP SAS. The participants are encouraged to participate in both events and to enjoy the stay in Tatra Mountain region and its surrounding full of very interesting, nice places with a rich historical background.
In order to fulfill the main goals of the C.I.A.N.S. international symposia, conferences and congresses - to support research, knowledge and their application - our Collegium continuously strives to provide a network for people interested in neurobiology of behaviour, integrative physiology, psychosomatic relations as well as in mental health research and promotion. We hope we will provide a place not only for a fruitful scientific discussion but also for a lively social exchange in a pleasant and informal friendly atmosphere.
It is a great privilege for us to host distinguished colleagues and friends half of a century after grounding the Collegium Internationale Activitatis Nervosae Superioris. Welcome to our meeting. We very much look forward to meeting you in High Tatras.

Chairman of the Organizing Committee
